Consult and provide expert witness testimony in the areas of general contracting and construction.
For over twenty-six years, has successfully completed over 5,000 construction projects ranging from residential to light commercial structures. His projects have included single-family residences to multi-unit dwellings.
He has been recognized by the State of California Contractors State License Board as an Industry Expert, and in that capacity, has mediated over 250 cases for the Contractors State License Board as well as being called on to evaluate over 2,000 separate cases to determine if other General Contractors workmanship is acceptable to Industry Standards. These assignments entailed documenting and investigating causes of construction defects, failures and damages as well as proposing cost of repair and corrective methods through the submission of comprehensive reports. Through these assignments, He has covered issues such as finished plumbing and electrical, plastering, wood refinishing, tile, concrete slabs, landscaping, roofing, gutters, fencing, gates and other areas.
The American Arbitration Association has designated him as a Commercial Construction Arbitrator for the past decade. The American Arbitration Association has been the leader and standard-setter in the field of conflict management, AAA Arbitrators are constantly required to attend and complete rigorous training seminars to maintain their membership in this distinguished organization. The American Arbitration Association has designated Mr. McCarthy as an Arbitrator and Panelist. AMCC is the sole provider to the California Contractors State License Board to arbitrate construction disputes.
